Cubana Chief Priest Arraigned Over Naira Abuse.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) presented the socialite with an arraignment before Justice Kehinde Ogundare.

Pascal Okechukwu, a well-known Instagram star also known as Cubana Chief Priest, has been charged with naira abuse before the Federal High Court in Lagos.

Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest on Instagram, has been charged with misuse of the naira at the Federal High Court in Lagos.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arraigned the socialite in front of Justice Kehinde Ogundare.

Cubana Chief Priest was charged with three counts by the anti-graft commission for allegedly misusing naira during a social gathering, an act that violated the Central Bank Act of 2007.

After entering a not guilty plea, the court gave him ₦10 million in bail.

A copy of the charge, which was submitted on April 4th by Rotimi Oyedepo (SAN), the prosecutor for the EFFC, and seven additional solicitors representing the chairman of the Commission, was obtained by Channels Television.

According to the first count, "you, Okechukwu Pascal, on February 13, 2024, at Eko Hotel, within the jurisdiction of the court, while dancing during a social event, tampered with funds in the denomination of N500 (Five Hundred Naira) issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria by spraying same for two hours, and you thereby committed an offence, contrary to and punishable under Section 21(1) of the Central Bank Act 2007."

The second count of the complaint stated that "you Okechukwu Pascal sometime in 2020, in Lagos, during a social event, tampered with funds in the denomination of N500 (Five Hundred Naira) issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria by spraying same for two hours, and you thereby committed an offence, contrary to and punishable under Section 21(1) of the Central Bank Act 2007."

"You Okechukwu Pascal sometime in January 2024, in Lagos during a social event, tampered with funds in the denomination of N500 (Five Hundred Naira) issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria by spraying same and you thereby committed an offence, contrary to and punishable under Section 21(1) of the Central Bank Act 2007," according to the allegation in Count 3.
