Popular nightlife entrepreneur Pascal Okechukwu, also known as Cubana Chief Priest, is facing three counts of attempted money laundering and tampering with currency for allegedly violating the Central Bank Act of 2007 at a social gathering. The charges were filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, or EFCC.

On Wednesday, April 17, 2024, the Federal High Court in Lagos will hold an arraignment for Cubana Chief Priest before Justice Kehinde Ogundare.

The EFCC prosecutor, Rotimi Oyedepo (SAN), filed a copy of the charge on April 4 along with seven other attorneys representing the chairman of the Commission. The charge stated, "that on February 13, 2024, at the Eko Hotel, within the jurisdiction of the court, while dancing during a social event, you, Okechukwu Pascal, tampered with funds in the denomination of N500 (Five Hundred Naira) issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria by spraying same for two hours, and you thereby committed an offence.

The second count of the complaint stated that "you Okechukwu Pascal sometime in 2020, in Lagos, during a social event, tampered with funds in the denomination of N500 (Five Hundred Naira) issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria by spraying same for two hours, and you thereby committed an offence, contrary to and punishable under Section 21(1) of the Central Bank Act 2007."

"You Okechukwu Pascal sometime in January 2024, in Lagos during a social event, tampered with funds in the denomination of N500 (Five Hundred Naira) issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria by spraying same and you thereby committed an offence, contrary to and punishable under Section 21(1) of the Central Bank Act 2007," according to the allegation in Count 3.
