Breaking News: California's 16th Congressional District has received two requests for a race recount.

California's 16th Congressional District has received two requests for a race recount.

In the campaign for California's 16th congressional district, at least two requests for a recount have been made.

Queen Maries report

The registrars of voters in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties both acknowledged on Tuesday that there had been two distinct requests to have the primary election for California's 16th Congressional District recounted.

Santa Clara County Supervisor Joe Simitian, former San Jose mayor Sam Liccardo, and California Representative Evan Low are the current front-runners and are predicted to go to the November elections.

With precisely 30,249 votes apiece, Simitian and Low finished the primary in an unexpected tie.

However, a recount can determine which of the two ends up moving forward. Liccardo is leading and has already made progress.

Both parties have not yet placed a deposit for the recount, according to San Mateo County, which stated that it was examining the requests.
